Strange coincidence of history that the city of Milan has won the Brussels Expo of 2015, just when I opened celebrations for the fiftieth anniversary of the Atomium, built in 1958 for the first World Exposition of war. Snubbed by many as an emulation botched the Eiffel Tower, Atomium in half a century now, with the Great Place to beer, the fries and the Gobelins, the symbol of the capital of Europe.
On 17 April 1958, the King Baudouin inaugurated the event, 17 April 2008, Brussels celebrated its anniversary with the inauguration of the Pavillon du Bonheur, a temporary pavilion, built solely with the unmistakable Yellow boxes of beer Jupiler, which are then exposed creations presenting: from desk lamps, headphones pool for women, through the hoses to fit the egg. And not only. Of particular emotional impact is the room dedicated to the projection of images of the other world fairs: the first, in 1851, in London, to that of Shanghai in 2010 to explore ideas "futuristic" in many cases are still part of daily life of each us. And not only the eggs and whisk the coffee grinder, but the fountain in Buxelles Calder introduced in 1958 and now appears in all the panoramic photographs taken from the Mont des Arts.
